When you open the Universalis application on Android, you will see a page of text with three controls at the top.

To see a different date, tap the date heading at the top of the screen, towards the left.

To see a different page, tap the page heading at the top of the screen, towards the right.

To see alternative texts, look for a blue arrow at the right-hand edge of the screen, and tap it. The alternatives may be different saints, or a different choice of invitatory, Creed, Preface, etc.

The menu symbol is usually at the far top right of the screen. If you tap on the menu button, a menu will open, with three options in it:

If you can’t see the menu button: Some manufacturers change the three-dots symbol, or delete the menu button from the top right of their screens. In that case, the device may have a physical menu button outside the screen. Or there may be no physical menu button at all, and you have to open the menu by pressing and holding down the "application switch" button at the bottom right of the screen. Options in the text

Here and there in some of the pages, you will see a pale blue arrow on the right-hand side. These arrows let you choose among various options within the page.

Universalis tries to be intelligent in remembering your choice. For instance, if you chose to have the Invitatory Psalm at Morning Prayer today, it will show it to you at Morning Prayer again tomorrow. Of course, if it has guessed wrong, you can use the blue arrow to correct it.
