O God, come to my aid.
O Lord, make haste to help me.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,

Thirsting for God

There is a variety of gifts but always the same Spirit; there are all sorts of service to be done, but always to the same Lord; working in all sorts of different ways in different people, it is the same God who is working in all of them.

The Messiah and his forerunner

Prayers and Intercessions

With joy let us worship the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and give them glory: - Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.
Holy Father, we do not know how to pray as we ought. Grant us the gift of the Holy Spirit –: to make up for our weakness and plead on our behalf.
Son of God, you begged the Father to send the Paraclete to your Church:: make the Spirit of truth remain with us for ever.
Come, Holy Spirit, and bestow your gifts on us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness and goodness;: forbearance, gentleness, faith, humility, continence and chastity.
Almighty Father, you have sent the Spirit of your Son into our hearts, crying out “Abba, Father” –: may we be driven by the Spirit and become your heirs, co-heirs with Christ.
Christ, you sent us the Paraclete proceeding from the Father, to bear witness to you:: make us in our turn bear witness to you before all men.

Our Father, who art in Heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those that trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

O God and Father, by sending the Word of truth and the Spirit of holiness into the world you revealed to mankind the great mystery of your being.
Grant that we may profess the true faith,
acknowledge the eternal glory of the Trinity,
and worship your Unity of majestic power.

Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God for ever and ever.
Amen.

May the Lord bless us and keep us from all harm; and may he lead us to eternal life.
