The latest version of Universalis for older Macs is dated 12 October 2011. It works well and is an exact copy of the main Universalis program of that date. However, it will not be updated in future. Misprints will not be corrected and new features will not be added.
Accordingly, Universalis for older Macs is free. No registration codes are required and no activation procedure needs to be gone through. There is no time limit on its operation.
Safari - The download will start automatically. Safari's
download window will show its progress. When the download has finished,
double-click on the downloaded file
Firefox - A window will pop up asking you
if you want to save this file. Choose "Save File". When the download
has finished, you will see the file
Tiger.dmg listed in the
Downloads window. Either double-click on the filename or click on the "Open"
link next to it.
You will now see a folder called Universalis Installation open on your desktop, with a Universalis icon inside it.
Drag the Universalis icon to wherever you want it to be: usually your Applications folder, though you can also put it directly on your desktop if you want.
You may also want to have Universalis visible in the Dock for easy access. Drag it from the Applications folder (not from the Universalis Installation folder) into the Dock, and you will see the other Dock items move apart to make room for it.
Tiger.dmglying around, you can safely erase it. If you can't see it, don't worry: it only takes up 4 megabytes anyway. (Depending on your web browser, it may be in your Downloads folder or on your desktop).
