Downloading and installation

Downloading

Safari - The download will start automatically. The download indicator at the top right of the Safari window will show its progress. When the download has finished, click on the indicator and then double-click on the downloaded file Universalis.dmg. (Older versions of Safari have a download window rather than a download indicator).

Firefox - A window will pop up asking you if you want to save this file. Choose "Save File". When the download has finished, you will see the file Universalis.dmg listed in the Downloads window. Either double-click on the filename or click on the "Open" link next to it.

Installation

You will now see a folder called Universalis Installation open on your desktop, with a Universalis icon inside it.

Drag the Universalis icon to wherever you want it to be: usually your Applications folder, though there is nothing to stop you putting it directly on your desktop if you want.

You may also want to have Universalis visible in the Dock for easy access. Drag it from the Applications folder (not from the Universalis Installation folder) into the Dock, and you will see the other Dock items move apart to make room for it.

Tidying up

Close the temporary "Universalis Installation" folder that the Universalis icon was in.
Look for an icon on your desktop that is called "Universalis Installation" and has a picture of a hard disk drive. Right-click on it and select "Eject Universalis Installation" from the pop-up menu.
If you can see a file called Universalis.dmg lying around, you can safely erase it. If you can't see it, don't worry: it only takes up a few megabytes anyway. (Depending on your web browser, it may be in your Downloads folder or on your desktop).

You now have a copy of the Universalis program on your computer.
