Universalis

Kindle (Windows): 1. Setup

Getting the Universalis program

If you haven’t already got the Universalis program for Windows, you need to install it. The instructions are here.

Setting up

1. Set up your chosen calendar and translations

You only need to do this once, the first time you use Universalis.

Universalis gives you various local calendars, for various parts of the world. If you haven't already done so, you should tell Universalis which calendar you want.

To do this, open the Universalis program and press on the button that brings up the calendar. Typically, this is a number between two arrows, but if you have turned on Screen Reader mode, it will be a command in the Date menu.

The calendar window will have the name of the currently chosen local calendar at the top. If this isn't the calendar you want, press the "Change Local Calendar" button at the bottom of the calendar window.

Translations

Universalis gives you a choice of translations, so choose the ones you want (if you haven't already done so in the past).

Back in the main Universalis program, click on the arrow in the top left-hand corner. (Or if you are using Screen Reader mode, open the Options menu). Here is the menu you will see:

Select the "Translations" option from the menu.

Note for blind readers: if you are using Universalis in "Screen Reader" mode, you won't have an arrow in the top left. Select "Options" from the menu bar instead.
