O God, come to our aid.
O Lord, make haste to help us.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.

Veníte, servi, súpplices,
et mente et ore extóllite
dignis beátum láudibus
nomen Dei cum cántico.
Hoc namque tempus illud est,
quo sæculórum iúdicem
iniústa morti trádidit
mortálium senténtia.
Et nos amóre débito,
timóre iusto súbditi,
advérsus omnes ímpetus
quos sævus hostis íncutit,
Unum rogémus et Patrem
Deum regémque Fílium
simúlque Sanctum Spíritum,
in Trinitáte Dóminum. Amen.

Lord God and Maker of all things,
Creation is upheld by you.
While all must change and know decay,
You are unchanging, always new.
You are man’s solace and his shield,
His Rock secure on which to build.
You are the spirit’s tranquil home,
In you alone is hope fulfilled.
To God the Father and the Son
And Holy Spirit render praise:
Blest Trinity, from age to age
The strength of all our living days.
|
The psalms of the day are shown here. If you are reciting more than one daytime hour (Terce, Sext, None) today, use the psalms of the day at one hour and the complementary psalms at the others.
Ps 118:145-152
| Psalm 118 (119): 145-152Alleluia. Alleluia. Alleluia.
I call on you with all my heart –
answer me, Lord.
I will obey your laws.
I call on you –
save me
so that I can keep your decrees.
At first light I cry to you,
I put all my hope in your word.
In the night I keep watch,
pondering your sayings.
In your mercy, Lord, hear my voice;
in your justice, give me life.
My persecutors come to do me harm:
they are far from your law.
But you, Lord, are near to me,
and you are trustworthy in all your precepts.
From the beginning I have known your decrees,
how you have made them to last for ever.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.

Ps 93:1-11
| Psalm 93 (94)
|
Ps 93 (94):12-2412Beátus homo, quem tu erudíeris, Dómine,*
et de lege tua docúeris eum,
13ut mítiges ei a diébus malis,*
17Nisi quia Dóminus adiúvit me,*
paulo minus habitásset in loco siléntii ánima mea.
18Si dicébam: «Motus est pes meus»,*
misericórdia tua, Dómine, sustentábat me.
19In multitúdine sollicitúdinum meárum in corde meo,*
consolatiónes tuæ lætificavérunt ánimam meam.
20Numquid sociábitur tibi sedes iniquitátis,*
quæ fingit moléstiam contra præcéptum?
21Irruunt in ánimam iusti*
et sánguinem innocéntem condémnant.
22Et factus est mihi Dóminus in præsídium*
et Deus meus in rupem refúgii mei;
23et reddet illis iniquitátem ipsórum,†
et in malítia eórum dispérdet eos,*
24dispérdet illos Dóminus Deus noster.
Glória Patri et Fílio*
et Spirítui Sancto.
Sicut erat in princípio et nunc et semper*
et in sǽcula sæculórum.
Amen.
Allelúia, allelúia, allelúia.
| Psalm 93 (94)Happy the man whom you instruct, O Lord;
to whom you teach your law.
You give him peace in evil days
while a pit is being dug for the wicked.
The Lord will not reject his people:
he will not abandon his inheritance.
Judgements will be just once more
and the upright of heart will follow them.
Who will rise up with me against the wicked?
Who will stand by my side against those who do evil?
If it were not for the Lord’s help,
I should quickly find myself in the land of silence.
Whenever I said, ‘My feet are slipping,’
your loving kindness, O Lord, held me upright.
In the midst of my heart’s troubles,
your consolations gave me back my happiness.
The unjust tribunal can never be your friend,
whose judges do evil against the law.
They attack the life of the just
and condemn innocent blood.
The Lord is my stronghold,
the rock where I shelter.
He will pay them back for their wickedness,
scatter them in their malice,
the Lord our God will scatter them.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.
Alleluia. Alleluia. Alleluia.
