Every Kindle device has an email address of the form
firstname.lastname@example.org. If you want our web service to send e-books to your Kindle (or you want to do it yourself) then you need to know that address.
The Settings page on your Kindle will show you your Kindle's email address. On the original Kindle, the thing to look for is "Device E-mail" on page 2 of the Settings page. It may be in a different place on other Kindle devices. Kindle programs and apps should also show the same information somewhere.
The Manage Your Kindle page on Amazon's web site lets you look up your Kindle's email address (it also lets you change it).
For your convenience, here are a couple of links:
Amazon may redesign their sites at any time, in which case these links won't work and you will have to search the Amazon site yourself.
In the Manage Your Kindle page, look at "Your Kindle Account" in the left-hand column, and choose the "Manage Your Devices" link in that list. You will then see all your Kindle devices and apps, with the
@kindle.com email address for each.
To avoid spam, Amazon only accept personal documents from email addresses that you specify. You must make sure that the email address you send e-books from is included in this list.
While you are on Amazon's site, check "Personal Document Settings" (this is also under "Your Kindle Account"). Make sure that the email address you will be sending e-books from is included in the "Approved Personal Document E-mail List" in the Personal Document Settings page. Here is more information.
