Kindle (Mac): transfer to the Kindle
There are two ways of transferring your newly created e-book to your Kindle.
- Connecting your Kindle to your computer using the USB cable that came with the Kindle. On your computer, you then drag the e-book file into a folder on the Kindle. This is fast and straightforward, but some people find the process a bit fiddly.
- Sending the e-book by email to your Amazon account. It then appears on your Kindle automatically. If you are more familiar with email than with moving files around with Finder, this may be better. In some cases Amazon may charge you “a small amount” for this service.
Choose whichever method suits you best. If you want, try them both and then decide.
Either way, once you have transferred the e-book, you can delete the e-book file from your Mac. It isn't needed any more.
