When a subscription becomes unnecessary

If you have got the Catholic Calendar app, and have taken out a monthly subscription to get Liturgy of the Hours and Mass texts, then there are two situations in which you no longer need your subscription, and have to cancel it:

  1. If you have bought the Universalis app, you don't need Catholic Calendar any more. Indeed, you should delete it so as to avoid confusion. In that case, you don't need your subscription either.
  2. If you have entered a Universalis registration code into Catholic Calendar, this removes all time limits, and so you don't need your subscription.

In either case, you have to cancel the subscription yourself. We aren't allowed to cancel it automatically for you.

How to cancel a subscription

Note: Cancellation takes effect from the next renewal date. You will continue to have all the benefits of your subscription until the renewal date is past.

From within the Universalis or Catholic Calendar app

  1. Tap in the centre of the screen to make the toolbar appear.
  2. Tap on the "ⓘ" button on the left-hand side of the toolbar.
  3. In the menu that appears, tap on "Subscriptions".

You will see a list of all possible subscriptions. Find the subscription you want to cancel, and tap the "Manage" button next to it. This will take you into a page supplied by Apple in which you can see all subscriptions and cancel them.

From within the App Store app

  1. Tap on your profile icon at the top right-hand corner.
  2. In the screen that appears, press "Manage Subscriptions".
  3. You will see a list of all your active and expired subscriptions.
  4. To cancel a subscription, tap on it and then press "Cancel Subscription".
