Universalis for the Mac

What is Universalis?

Universalis gives you psalms, prayers and readings from the Liturgy of the Hours of the Catholic Church. These are different for each day of the year. Universalis also gives you the readings for each day's Mass.

The Liturgy of the Hours (also known as the Divine Office) is the richest single prayer resource of the Christian Church. It provides prayers, psalms and meditation for every hour of every day. Universalis includes Morning Prayer (Lauds), Evening Prayer (Vespers), Night Prayer (Compline), and the Office of Readings. The daytime hours (Terce, Sext and None) are not included, but you can read the very short Biblical readings for them on the About Today page in Universalis.

The Universalis web site gives you the Liturgy of the Hours and the Mass readings for today and up to a week ahead.

Universalis for the Mac allows you to download the whole of Universalis' content to your Mac and use it there without ever needing to look at the web site again.

You are freed from all date constraints, so you can view the Liturgy of the Hours and the Mass readings for any date in the past or future.

The program is specifically designed for Mac OS X, and its clean and tight layout makes it easy to read the text on-screen and browse through dates and hours.

Universalis for the Mac is a Universal program for Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger), 10.5 (Leopard), or above. It is a Universal program that will run on both Intel Macs and PowerPC Macs. The size of the downloaded file is about 2.5MB, and the size of the program after installation is about 5MB.

How do I download it?

How much does it cost?

You have a month's free trial period. After that, you need to buy a registration code for £30 (approximately $55 depending on the exchange rate). The registration code lasts for ever and includes all future updates. There is no annual subscription. If the registration code is for your personal use only, you can use it for all the downloadable versions of Universalis: Windows and handhelds, as well as for the Mac.
