O Roma felix, quæ tantórum príncipum
es purpuráta pretióso sánguine!
Excéllis omnem mundi pulchritúdinem
non laude tua, sed sanctórum méritis,
quos cruentátis iugulásti gládiis.
Vos ergo modo, gloriósi mártyres,
Petre beáte, Paule, mundi lílium,
cæléstis aulæ triumpháles mílites,
précibus almis vestris nos ab ómnibus
muníte malis, ferte super ǽthera.
Glória Patri per imménsa sǽcula,
sit tibi, Nate, decus et impérium,
honor, potéstas Sanctóque Spirítui;
sit Trinitáti salus indivídua
per infiníta sæculórum sǽcula. Amen.

Now let the heavens with joy resound,
And earth the chant re-echo round;
Nor heaven nor earth too high can raise
The great Apostles’ glorious praise.
Theirs was the steadfast faith of saints,
The unconquered hope that never faints,
The perfect love of Christ to know,
That lays the praise of this world low.
In them the Father’s glory shone,
In them the Spirit’s will was done;
The Son’s glad praise to them is given,
With joy resound the courts of heaven.
To thee, Redeemer, now we cry,
That with this glorious band on high,
Through endless ages, by thy grace,
Thy servants also may have place.

God the SaviourYou are the shepherd of God’s people, the prince of the apostles: to you were given the keys of the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed be God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who has blessed us, in Christ,
with every spiritual blessing in heaven.
In love, he chose us before the creation of the world,
to be holy and spotless in his sight.
He predestined us to be his adopted children through Jesus Christ,
simply because it pleased him to do so.
This he did for the praise of the glory of his grace,
of his free gift to us in his Beloved,
in whose blood we have gained redemption,
and the forgiveness of our sins.
This he did according to the riches of his grace,
which he gave us in abundance,
with all wisdom and discernment,
revealing to us the mysteries of his will,
because it pleased him to do so.
In this action he has planned, in the fulfilment of time,
to bring all things together in Christ,
from the heavens and from the earth.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.
You are the shepherd of God’s people, the prince of the apostles: to you were given the keys of the kingdom of heaven.

|
In the first place, I taught you what I had been taught myself, namely that Christ died for our sins, in accordance with the scriptures; that he was buried; and that he was raised to life on the third day, in accordance with the scriptures; that he appeared first to Cephas and secondly to the Twelve, and last of all to me.

Exsultatio animæ in DominoPetrus apóstolus et Paulus doctor géntium, ipsi nos docuérunt legem tuam, Dómine.
Magníficat*
ánima mea Dóminum,
et exsultávit spíritus meus*
in Deo salvatóre meo,
dispérsit supérbos mente cordis sui;
depósuit poténtes de sede*
et exaltávit húmiles;
esuriéntes implévit bonis*
et dívites dimísit inánes.
Suscépit Israel púerum suum,*
recordátus misericórdiæ,
sicut locútus est ad patres nostros,*
Abraham et sémini eius in sǽcula.
Glória Patri et Fílio*
et Spirítui Sancto.
Sicut erat in princípio et nunc et semper*
et in sǽcula sæculórum.
Amen.

My soul rejoices in the LordPeter the apostle and Paul the teacher of the nations taught us your law, Lord.
My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,
and my spirit rejoices in God, my salvation.
For he has shown me such favour –
me, his lowly handmaiden.
Now all generations will call me blessed,
because the mighty one has done great things for me.
His name is holy,
his mercy lasts for generation after generation
for those who revere him.
He has put forth his strength:
he has scattered the proud and conceited,
torn princes from their thrones;
but lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things;
the rich he has sent away empty.
He has come to the help of his servant Israel,
he has remembered his mercy as he promised to our fathers,
to Abraham and his children for ever.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.
Peter the apostle and Paul the teacher of the nations taught us your law, Lord.

univérsam plebem tuam, bone Pastor, in unum cóngrega ovíle.

We pray to Christ who built his Church on the foundation of the apostles and prophets.
– Lord, be with your people.
Simon the fisherman was called by you to be a fisher of men:
call others today to share in his task.
– Lord, be with your people.
When the disciples feared that the ship was sinking, you commanded the sea and there was calm:
protect your Church in the midst of trouble, and give her the peace that the world cannot give.
– Lord, be with your people.
After your resurrection you gathered your Church around Peter:
gather all your people now into the unity for which you prayed.
– Lord, be with your people.
You sent Paul as an apostle to all men:
let your good news be preached today through all creation.
– Lord, be with your people.
You entrusted the keys of your kingdom to your Church:
open the gates of life to the dead who put their trust in you.
– Lord, be with your people.

Pater noster, qui es in cælis:
sanctificétur nomen tuum;
advéniat regnum tuum;
fiat volúntas tua, sicut in cælo et in terra.
Panem nostrum cotidiánum da nobis hódie;
et dimítte nobis débita nostra,
sicut et nos dimíttimus debitóribus nostris;
et ne nos indúcas in tentatiónem;
sed líbera nos a malo.
| Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
|
Deus, qui huius diéi venerándam sanctámque lætítiam in apostolórum Petri et Pauli sollemnitáte tribuísti, da Ecclésiæ tuæ eórum in ómnibus sequi præcéptum, per quos religiónis sumpsit exórdium.
Per Dóminum nostrum Iesum Christum, Fílium tuum,
qui tecum vivit et regnat in unitáte Spíritus Sancti, Deus,
per ómnia sǽcula sæculórum.
Amen.
| Almighty God,
you give us the great joy of devoting this day
to the honour of the apostles Peter and Paul.
Grant that your Church
may follow their teaching to the full,
because these are the men
who first taught us to worship you in Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.
Amen.
|
Amen.
| The Lord bless us, and keep us from all evil, and bring us to everlasting life.
Amen.
