Come, Holy Spirit, live in us
With God the Father and the Son,
And grant us your abundant grace
To sanctify and make us one.
May mind and tongue made strong in love
Your praise throughout the world proclaim,
And may that love within our hearts
Set fire to others with its flame.
Most blessèd Trinity of love,
For whom the heart of man was made,
To you be praise in timeless song,
And everlasting homage paid.

Ps 118:121-128
Meditatio verbi Domini in lege

Mater eius conservabat omnia verba in corde suo” (Lc 2, 51)

Súscipe, Dómine, servum tuum in bonum.
121Feci iudícium et iustítiam;*
  non tradas me calumniántibus me.
122Sponde pro servo tuo in bonum;*
  non calumniéntur me supérbi.
123Oculi mei defecérunt in desidério salutáris tui*
  et elóquii iustítiæ tuæ.
124Fac cum servo tuo secúndum misericórdiam tuam*
  et iustificatiónes tuas doce me.
125Servus tuus sum ego;*
da mihi intelléctum, ut sciam testimónia tua.
126Tempus faciéndi Dómino;*
  dissipavérunt legem tuam.
127Ideo diléxi præcépta tua*
  super aurum et obrýzum.
128Proptérea ad ómnia mandáta tua dirigébar,*
  omnem viam mendácii ódio hábui.
Glória Patri et Fílio*
  et Spirítui Sancto.
Sicut erat in princípio et nunc et semper*
  et in sǽcula sæculórum.
Amen.
Súscipe, Dómine, servum tuum in bonum.

Psalm 118(119): 121-128

Lord, vouch for the welfare of your servant.
I have lived in righteousness and justice:
do not hand me over to my oppressors.
Watch over the well-being of your servant:
do not let the proud oppress me.
My eyes are weary with waiting for your help
and for the fulfilment of your promises.
Treat your servant with your loving kindness
  and teach me your statutes.
I am your servant, give me understanding
  and knowledge of your decrees.
The time has come for the Lord to act:
  people are ignoring your law.
And so I love your commandments
  better than gold, purest gold.
And so I shall direct my life by your precepts:
  I hate all deceptive ways.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son
  and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
  world without end.
Amen.
Lord, vouch for the welfare of your servant.

Ps 33:2-11
Dominus iustorum salus

Gustastis quoniam dulcis Dominus” (1 Petr 2, 3).

Respícite ad Dóminum et illuminámini.
2Benedícam Dóminum in omni témpore,*
semper laus eius in ore meo.
3In Dómino gloriábitur ánima mea,*
  áudiant mansuéti et læténtur.
4Magnificáte Dóminum mecum,*
et exaltémus nomen eius in idípsum.
5Exquisívi Dóminum, et exaudívit me*
et ex ómnibus terróribus meis erípuit me.
6Respícite ad eum, et illuminámini*
  et fácies vestræ non confundéntur.
7Iste pauper clamávit,†
  et Dóminus exaudívit eum*
et de ómnibus tribulatiónibus eius salvávit eum.
8Vallábit ángelus Dómini in circúitu timéntes eum*
  et erípiet eos.
9Gustáte et vidéte quóniam suávis est Dóminus;*
beátus vir, qui sperat in eo.
10Timéte Dóminum, sancti eius,*
quóniam non est inópia timéntibus eum.
11Dívites eguérunt et esuriérunt,*
inquiréntes autem Dóminum non defícient omni bono.
Glória Patri et Fílio*
  et Spirítui Sancto.
Sicut erat in princípio et nunc et semper*
  et in sǽcula sæculórum.
Amen.
Respícite ad Dóminum et illuminámini.

Psalm 33 (34)
The Lord, the salvation of the righteous

Look to the Lord and be radiant.
I shall bless the Lord for ever:
my mouth will proclaim his praise.
My soul will glory in the Lord:
let the meek listen and rejoice.
Join me and proclaim the greatness of the Lord:
together let us exalt his name.
I sought the Lord and he listened to me:
he rescued me from all my fears.
Look to him and he will shine upon you,
and you will not be put to shame.
This poor man called, and the Lord answered him
and saved him from all his many troubles.
The angel of the Lord will build defences
round those who fear the Lord:
he will come to their rescue.
Taste and see that the Lord is kind:
happy the man who hopes in him.
Revere the Lord, his saints:
for those who fear him are never destitute.
The rich are hungry and in want,
but for those who seek the Lord
there is no lack of good things.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son
  and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
  world without end.
Amen.
Look to the Lord and be radiant.

Ps 33:12-23

12Veníte, fílii, audíte me:*
  timórem Dómini docébo vos.
13Quis est homo, qui vult vitam,*
  díligit dies, ut vídeat bonum?
14Próhibe linguam tuam a malo,*
Amen.

Psalm 33 (34)

The Lord is close to the broken-hearted.
Come, children, listen to me:
I shall teach you the fear of the Lord.
Who is the man who desires life,
who wants to live long to enjoy good things?
Do not let your tongue speak evil:
let your lips not utter deceit.
Avoid evil, do good:
  seek peace and follow it.
The eyes of the Lord are on the just
  and his ears hear their cries;
but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil:
he wipes their memory from the earth.
The just cried out, and the Lord listened
and freed them from all their many troubles.
The Lord is close to the broken-hearted:
the crushed in spirit he will save.
Many are the troubles of the just,
but the Lord will free them from all of them.
He will protect all their bones:
  not one will be broken.
Their own evil destroys sinners:
those who hate the just will be punished.
The Lord will redeem the souls of his servants:
those who put their hope in him will not be punished.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son
  and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
  world without end.
Amen.
The Lord is close to the broken-hearted.

Lectio brevis1 Sam 15:22
Scripture Reading1 Samuel 15:22
Is the pleasure of the Lord in holocausts and sacrifices or in obedience to the voice of the Lord? Obedience is better than sacrifice, submissiveness better than the fat of rams.

℣. Sacrifícium laudis honorificábit me.
℣. A sacrifice of praise will give me honour.
℟. I will show God’s salvation to the upright.

Oremus.
Dómine Deus, Pater omnípotens, nobis maiestáti tuæ subiéctis Sancti Spíritus lumen infúnde, ut ab omni hoste secúri, in tua iúgiter laude lætémur.
  Per Christum Dóminum nostrum.
  Amen.
Let us pray.
Send forth the light of the Holy Spirit on us,
  Lord God, almighty Father,
subject as we are to your divine majesty:
so that safe from every foe,
  we may always rejoice
  as we celebrate your praise.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Benedicámus Dómino.
– Deo grátias.
Let us praise the Lord.
– Thanks be to God.
