Universalis

Free trial

We want you to be sure about Universalis before you buy it. Here is how to try everything out for a month before you have to think about purchasing anything.

1. Install Catholic Calendar for Android

The Catholic Calendar app is free.

In the app stores, “Catholic Calendar from Universalis” is what you are looking for.

2. Start your free trial

Some pages in Catholic Calendar are free, such as “About Today”. Go to a page which is not free, such as “Readings at Mass”. If you need instructions, they are here.

You will see a message offering you a monthly subscription.

Here is how to use this as a free trial:

  1. Tap the box to start the monthly subscription.
  2. The first time you subscribe, Amazon and Google Play will give you at least 30 days’ free usage before they start to charge you – possibly quite a bit longer.
  3. Look carefully at the message which appears when you are asked for payment. It will tell you whether you are being given a free trial period and how long it is.

3. Try it for a month

Catholic Calendar, during its free trial period, works just like Universalis. Use it as much as you like.

4. At the end of the month

By the time your free trial has come to an end, we hope that you will want to carry on.

If you want to contine subscribing

Do nothing. You will start being charged a subscription every month.

If you do not want to subscribe

Cancel your subscription. If you do this before the end of the free trial period, you will not be charged.

You can find detailed cancellation instructions at the bottom of our pages about the Amazon Appstore and about Google Play.

Saving money in the long term

The Universalis app costs about as much as a year’s worth of monthly subscriptions; but it needs no subscription and it lasts for ever. So in the long run you will save money if you cancel your monthly subscription to Catholic Calendar and buy and use Universalis instead.

Buy for £9.99 (about $12.60 or €11.50). You will be told the exact price before you are asked to pay.

Get it from the Google Play Store

Get it through the Amazon Appstore app

Most Android devices get their apps from the Google Play Store, but a few (mostly Amazon Fire and Kindle Fire) get them from the Amazon Appstore.

Buying Universalis won’t automatically cancel any subscription you have in Catholic Calendar: if you have a subscription, you will have to cancel it yourself. Once you have cancelled, you may as well delete Catholic Calendar from your device: Universalis replaces it.
