Deus, in adiutórium meum inténde.
Dómine, ad adiuvándum me festína.
Glória Patri et Fílio*

O God, come to our aid.
O Lord, make haste to help us.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.

Ternis ter horis númerus
nobis sacrátus pánditur,
sanctóque Iesu nómine
munus precémur véniæ.
Latrónis, en, conféssio
Christi merétur grátiam;
laus nostra vel devótio
mercétur indulgéntiam.
Mors per crucem nunc ínterit
et post ténebras lux redit;
horror dehíscat críminum,
splendor nitéscat méntium.
Christum rogámus et Patrem,
Christi Patrísque Spíritum;
unum potens per ómnia,
fove precántes, Trínitas. Amen.

Eternal Father, loving God,
Who made us from the dust of earth,
Transform us by the Spirit’s grace,
Give value to our little worth.
Prepare us for that day of days
When Christ from heaven will come with might
To call us out of dust again,
Our bodies glorified in light.
O Godhead, here untouched, unseen,
All things created bear your trace;
The seed of glory sown in man
Will flower when we see your face.

Ps 118:153-160
| Psalm 118(119): 153-160Armed with the justice which is the power of God, let us prove ourselves with great patience.
See my distress, and rescue me,
since I have not forgotten your law.
Give judgement in my case and redeem me;
give me life, as you have promised.
The wicked are far from salvation:
they have not sought out your judgements.
Your acts of kindness are many:
Lord, give me life as you have decreed.
How many pursue me and trouble me!
But I have not abandoned your decrees.
I have seen liars and they disgust me,
since they have ignored your promises.
Lord, see how I love your commandments!
In your loving kindness, give me life.
Truth lies behind all your words:
justice makes your judgements last for ever.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.

Ps 127:1-5
| Psalm 127 (128)
|
Ps 128:1-8
| Psalm 128 (129)
|
Nolíte abícere confidéntiam vestram, quæ magnam habet remuneratiónem; patiéntia enim vobis necessária est, ut voluntátem Dei faciéntes reportétis promissiónem.
|
Continue to have confidence, since the reward is so great. You will need endurance to do God’s will and gain what he has promised.
|
℣. Sacrifícium Deo spíritus contribulátus.
℟. Cor contrítum et humiliátum, Deus, non despícies.
| ℣. My sacrifice is a contrite spirit.
℟. A humbled, contrite heart you will not spurn, O God.
|
Oremus.
Cleméntiam tuam, Dómine, súpplici voto depóscimus, ut nos fámulos tuos, pæniténtia emendátos et bonis opéribus erudítos, in mandátis tuis fácias perseveráre sincéros et ad paschália festa perveníre illǽsos.
Per Christum Dóminum nostrum.
Amen.
| Let us pray.
Compassionate Lord, you have chastened us by penance and schooled us in good works.
Grant us now a single-hearted perseverance in keeping your commandments,
and bring us untouched by sin to the joys of Easter.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
|
Benedicámus Dómino.
