Universalis

Instructions

These are instructions for the older (pre-August 2017) versions of Universalis and Catholic Calendar. Here are the instructions for newer versions.

When you open the Universalis application on Android, you will see a page of text with three controls at the top.

To see a different date, tap the date heading at the top of the screen, towards the left.

To see a different page, tap the page heading at the top of the screen, towards the right.

To see alternative texts, look for a menu symbol at the right-hand edge of the screen, and tap it. The alternatives may be different saints, or a different choice of invitatory, Creed, Preface, etc. In older versions, the menu symbol appeared as a blue arrow.

The Android system menu symbol is usually at the far top right of the screen. If you tap on it, a menu will open, with three options in it:

If you can’t see the menu button: Some manufacturers change the three-dots symbol, or delete the menu button from the top right of their screens. In that case, the device may have a physical menu button outside the screen. Or there may be no physical menu button at all, and you have to open the menu by pressing and holding down the "application switch" button at the bottom right of the screen. Options in the text

In the middle of a text page, you will often see a menu button on the right-hand side of the screen. The menu button lets you choose among various options within the page. Depending on which program or app you are using, the menu button will either be a stack of red lines or a blue arrow.
