Cuius corpus sanctíssimum
in ara crucis tórridum,
sed et cruórem róseum

Protécti paschæ véspero
a devastánte ángelo,

Iam pascha nostrum Christus est,
agnus occísus ínnocens;
sinceritátis ázyma
qui carnem suam óbtulit.
O vera, digna hóstia,
per quam frangúntur tártara,
captíva plebs redímitur,
reddúntur vitæ prǽmia!
Consúrgit Christus túmulo,
victor redit de bárathro,
tyránnum trudens vínculo
et paradísum réserans.
Esto perénne méntibus

Hymn
O Christ, the heavens’ eternal King,
Creator, unto thee we sing,
With God the Father ever One,
Co-equal, co-eternal Son.
Thy hand, when first the world began,
Made in thine own pure image man,
And linked to fleshly form of earth
A living soul of heavenly birth.
And when the envious crafty foe
Had marred thy noblest work below,
Thou didst our ruined state repair
By deigning flesh thyself to wear.
Once of a virgin born to save,
And now new born from death’s dark grave,
O Christ, thou bidd’st us rise with thee
From death to immortality.
Eternal Shepherd, thou art wont
To cleanse Thy sheep within the font,
That mystic bath, that grave of sin,
Where ransomed souls new life begin.
Divine Redeemer, thou didst deign
To bear for us the cross of pain,
And freely pay the precious price
Of all thy blood in sacrifice.
Jesu, do thou to every heart
Unceasing Paschal joy impart;
From death of sin and guilty strife
Set free the new born sons of life.
All praise be thine, O risen Lord,
From death to endless life restored;
All praise to God the Father be
And Holy Ghost eternally.

A paschal hymn

Anyone who is in Christ is a new creature. Alleluia.
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good,
  for his love is for ever.
Give thanks to the God of gods,
  for his love is for ever.
Give thanks to the Lord of lords,

The sun, to rule over the day,
  for his love is for ever.
The moon and stars, to rule over the night,

Psalm 135 (136)

Let us love God, then, since he loved us first. Alleluia.
He struck down the first-born of Egypt,
  for his love is for ever.
He led Israel out from their midst,
  for his love is for ever.
With a strong hand and an outstretched arm,
  for his love is for ever.
He divided the Red Sea in two,
  for his love is for ever.
He led Israel out through the sea,
  for his love is for ever.
He overthrew Pharaoh and his army,
  for his love is for ever.
He led his people through the wilderness,
  for his love is for ever.
He struck down great kings,
  for his love is for ever.
Sihon, king of the Amorites,
  for his love is for ever.
And Og, the king of Bashan,
  for his love is for ever.
He gave their land to his people,
  for his love is for ever.
A heritage for Israel his servant,
  for his love is for ever.
He remembered us in our affliction,
  for his love is for ever.
He rescued us from our enemies,
  for his love is for ever.
He gives food to all creatures that live,
  for his love is for ever.
Give thanks to the God of heaven,
  for his love is for ever.

CanticleEphesians 1

God the Saviour

From his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. Alleluia.
Blessed be God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
  who has blessed us, in Christ,
  with every spiritual blessing in heaven.
In love, he chose us before the creation of the world,
  to be holy and spotless in his sight.
He predestined us to be his adopted children through Jesus Christ,
  simply because it pleased him to do so.
This he did for the praise of the glory of his grace,
  of his free gift to us in his Beloved,
in whose blood we have gained redemption,
  and the forgiveness of our sins.
This he did according to the riches of his grace,
  which he gave us in abundance,
with all wisdom and discernment,
  revealing to us the mysteries of his will,
  because it pleased him to do so.
In this action he has planned, in the fulfilment of time,
  to bring all things together in Christ,
  from the heavens and from the earth.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son
  and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
  is now, and ever shall be,
  world without end.
Amen.
From his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. Alleluia.

Exsultatio animæ in Domino

My soul rejoices in the Lord

I have other sheep that are not of this fold, and these I must also lead. They too will listen to my voice, and there will be only one flock, and one shepherd. Alleluia.
My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,
  and my spirit rejoices in God, my salvation.
For he has shown me such favour –
  me, his lowly handmaiden.
Now all generations will call me blessed,
  because the mighty one has done great things for me.
His name is holy,
  his mercy lasts for generation after generation
  for those who revere him.
He has put forth his strength:
  he has scattered the proud and conceited,
  torn princes from their thrones;
  but lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things;
  the rich he has sent away empty.
He has come to the help of his servant Israel,
  he has remembered his mercy as he promised to our fathers,
  to Abraham and his children for ever.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son
  and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
  is now, and ever shall be,
  world without end.
Amen.
I have other sheep that are not of this fold, and these I must also lead. They too will listen to my voice, and there will be only one flock, and one shepherd. Alleluia.

  adésto Ecclésiæ tuæ peregrinánti.

  sed fac, ut te mortis victórem confiteántur.

  et manifésta teípsum, ut te salvatórem suscípiant.

  defúnctis, qui in te credidérunt, remissiónem peccatórum concéde.

Prayers and intercessions
Rejoicing, let us pray to Christ the Lord, who sheds glory on the universe through his resurrection.
Christ, our life, hear us.
Lord Jesus, you joined your disciples on the way to Emmaus;
  accompany your Church on her journey through life.
Christ, our life, hear us.
May we, your faithful, not be slow to believe;
  give us the courage to proclaim your victory over death.
Christ, our life, hear us.
Look upon those who have not recognized your presence in their lives;
  let their hearts rejoice in the knowledge of their Saviour.
Christ, our life, hear us.
You are the judge of the living and the dead;
  grant to the faithful departed forgiveness of their sins.
Christ, our life, hear us.

Pater noster, qui es in cælis:
sanctificétur nomen tuum;
advéniat regnum tuum;
fiat volúntas tua, sicut in cælo et in terra.
Panem nostrum cotidiánum da nobis hódie;
et dimítte nobis débita nostra,
sicut et nos dimíttimus debitóribus nostris;
et ne nos indúcas in tentatiónem;
sed líbera nos a malo.
Our Father, who art in heaven,
  hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
  Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
  and forgive us our trespasses,
  as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
  but deliver us from evil.

Deus, qui in Fílii tui humilitáte iacéntem mundum erexísti, fidélibus tuis sanctam concéde lætítiam, ut, quos eripuísti a servitúte peccáti, gáudiis fácias pérfrui sempitérnis.
Per Dóminum nostrum Iesum Christum, Fílium tuum,
qui tecum vivit et regnat in unitáte Spíritus Sancti, Deus,
per ómnia sǽcula sæculórum.
Amen.
Lord God,
  when our world lay in ruins,
  you raised it up again on the foundation of your Son’s Passion and Death.
Give us grace to rejoice in the freedom from sin which he gained for us,
  and bring us to everlasting joy.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.
Amen.

Dóminus nos benedícat, et ab omni malo deféndat, et ad vitam perdúcat ætérnam.
  Amen.
The Lord bless us, and keep us from all evil, and bring us to everlasting life.
  Amen.
